Crochet Granny Squares- Sewing Together
Written by admin on September 13, 2008 – 7:39 pm -
How to sew together granny squares. Both squares are ones that I made up with my scrap yarn. I never write my patterns down because I didn’t like writing patterns. I have gotten better lately about writing patterns.

You create a knot, …
You create a knot, then weave the tail between the stitches of the square. You can sew the tail in right away or leave a length of tail for sewing the squares together.

So when you whip …
So when you whip stitch two squares together, do you leave tails on either end and weave them into the squares? I’m having a hard time visualizing how they end up staying stitched together without a knot at the end. Does that make sense?

im also making a baby blanket, can you join them with a double or even triple crochet so the the squares have more of a space between them? or is it better to just crochet a border on each square? Because i would like my contrasting color to show more.

You can use either of the two demonstrations in this video to connect granny squares. Put these words in the video search, “Piecing Together a Granny Square Afghan” and you will find another granny square demonstration.

I just want to say thank you for the video demonstrations you have posted on how to crochet patterns and many other things. I myself am ,somewhat of a beginner. I started when I was 12 and I’m 23 now. I was only able to double crochet things cause that’s what I first learned. After watching your videos for a day, I can now do different patterns on blankets and do beanies. Thanks a so much. This has helped me a lot. Thanks again.
